This is Florence Hannay who recently received a Governor General`s award for her lifelong work as a volunteer. She had not been in a portrait studio for decades and I was honored that
she chose my studio to immortalize her for the occasion.
This is my recent portrait of General Lewis MacKenzie who led our forces in the Peacekeeping Mission in Bosnia.
Fascinating conversations are frequently part of my week…but chatting with General Mackenzie had to be the highlight of last week. I really should write that much threatened book…oh well, one day.
We create a lot of buzz for businesses in Ottawa. This was shot for one of the rising Real Estate stars, Chris Lacharity and his team. I went a bit beyond the call of duty on this one…and they seem to have liked it as it`s popping up in ads, the web and billboards around town. Cool images sell things….period.
We do a lot of product photography from food and technology to cosmetics. This shot ran in a range of women`s mags. Don`t try doing this much Photoshop at home kids…
I wanted to create something a bit different for Boom 99.7 We do quite a few shoots for local radio and television promos and it is always a fun type of personality to work with. Brent and Michelle had definite ideas on how they should look and the teamwork
between them and my studio created this image that was used in Status Magazine.
The head of Willis Business Schools is not at all what I would have expected. Oh my, what a vibrant woman. We could have shot and chatted all day…
Depicting an investment guy is tough. We wanted to capture Grahams approachable personality so I chatted with him while my assistant snapped the shot. I think it worked.
We photograph a lot of politicians on all levels of government. This shoot was done for a CBC PR campaign. I negotiated to own the rights to these portraits and this has proved to be a valuable resource in stock sales.
Thanks to my super Photoshop staff, we were able to put together this group portrait. I actually had them all in the same studio, but getting four great expressions would have been too complex within the time frame allotted.
This was the third time I was hired to photograph a group of Canadian PM`s…what an experience!
This was shot in our Centretown Ottawa studio…what a great shoot with a wonderful woman who beat breast cancer.
