What can I say about Leanne Lacroix…talent, looks and business saavy all rolled up into one. If Leanne was any more fun, she would be illegal.
This is an outtake from my shoot with Angie Seymour and family featured in Capital Style magazine from Ottawa. Still one of my faves…but what do I know.
This is going to sound odd…really odd.
The best place to start comparing photographers in Ottawa may well be the Yellow Pages. http://www.yellowpages.ca/search/si/1/Portrait+%26+Wedding+Photographers/Ottawa+ON
In these days of Google and Social Media, why would I write such a thing. Surely, I must be out of touch with the digital world.
Not really. I was involved in digital photography as early as 1991. Couvrette Studio was one of the first photography websites in Canada, launching six months after Microsoft in 1996.
So why look at the old fashioned Yellow Pages…well, because every one of the top studios is there. It doesn`t cost a penny to launch a Facebook page and a few bucks a month for one of those cookie cutter Blu Domain sites that look really swish, but nothing beats a business that actually has a commercial phone line and a long term reputation.
Business portraits are something I really enjoy doing. Why…well mostly because I find it interesting to chat with people about their businesses, their lives and what makes them tick. Having a large Centretown studio brings us in contact with Ambassadors, Consultants, Real Estate agents and Lawyers pretty well every week. Its fun.
Ikea Corporation is all about value for money. Like all companies in todays business environment, they want it done right, on time and on budget. The specs on this job meant that we had to deliver it to their site within an hour of the event…gotta love the digital age.
Apparently head office was impressed….they even gave me a gift card for lunch in the cafeteria.
Wow! I read something today on Facebook and it occured to me that in reality it has always been the motto of Couvrette Studio.
Here goes…..
Refuse to lower your standards to accommodate those who refuse to raise theirs.
